Where'd my week go?
Jan. 4th, 2005 11:21 amVacation ROCKED!
Despite bronchitis, allergic reactions, snow, rain, Mothers, USPS failings and shredded toilet paper, this vacation rocked.
We had a wonderfully relaxing Christmas, a kick ass post-New Years party, lots of friends, cards, games and plenty of time to enjoy them.
Our party was a hit. We had lots of people show up, including some who have never been to our home before. No one got falling down drunk though vast amounts of alcohol were consumed. Our kittens were admired by all and did their best to be impossibly cute. I was surprised that they were out demanding attention with that many people in the house but out they were. More than one person threatened to take them home. Phil brought me some smurf juice*, which is wonderfully sour and not too sweet. I like smurf juice. We built a nice roaring fire in the fire place so that the people who didn't want to play games could sit in the living room and watch the fire. We seem to have gotten the hang of having a fire without setting off every smoke alarm in the house.
Oh, and for anyone at the party who got their asses grabbed or complimented into embarrassment by the Boy, well, you should expected as much by now. He's a bit of a slut when he's drunk. He's a bit of a slut when he's sober too but he's more tackful about it. If you want to avoid such dealings in the future, let me know and I'll run interference for you. Or smack him. Both work.
Unfortunately, its all over now.
dgr and
georgejas left this morning and that signaled the end of my week plus of slacking. On the up side, we decided a real vacation to points unvisited is required this year and we'll hopefully be doing something with them come spring. Hawaii has been mentioned more than once.

Date: 2005-01-04 09:37 pm (UTC)Also, its high time to re-instate the monthly stitch&bitch. I have both that need to get done. My house is available, assuming people would be willing to come up there. There's also a couple new girls expressed intrest (Noah's wife Ros, maybe some of the new barn ladies).

Date: 2005-01-04 10:26 pm (UTC)Not this week. Maybe next? The third week of Jan is Arisia, so that would be bad but having something before then would be great.
