I got up this morning and what do I see?

Baby bunnies in my vegetable garden. Little, tiny, fresh out of the nest, "we're too young to know enough to run away" baby bunnies chewing on my broccoli plants. Nothing more than a bit of fluff with big round eyes and nibbling little teeth. They hunkered down in the weeds when I came out onto the pourch. You could almost see the lower lips trembling in fear.

Even I am not heartless enough to go rampaging after tiny baby bunnies.

Give'em a few weeks for their bodies to catch up with those huge black eyes and then their fuzzy tails are mine for the swatting.

I watched my father's bird dog find three or four of those, one time.

He looked really upset that they, as toys, only squeak once when you play with them. It was horrific, and a quick demonstration that 100 lbs of dog usually wins over 2 lbs of fluff.

Mmmmm... Just think about the tasty hasenfeffer once they're more fully grown...

Awww, tiny baby bunnies!

I'll trade you our obnoxious groundhog for a couple of baby bunnies :)

Thank you but no. I'm pretty sure the neighborhood roaming tom will thin the herd soon enough.

That's how they get their foot in the door, see. Oh, we're sooooo cute!
You can't chase us away!

Two months and they'll be forcing you to leave food out for them
to keep them away from your veggies. Just watch.
