someone find me a beat
Aug. 24th, 2005 11:35 amPart of M's bachlorette party involved going club hopping. We ended up some place down off the alley in Boston Commons that was playing 80's hair bands. Unfortunately, Ahn had had a lemon drop with dinner. Yes, one lemon drop. The rest of us had a few. Ahn is one of those asian girls who just can NOT tolerate alcohol. By the time we reached the club, she was pretty much gone. Me, being the mother hen that I am, bundled her puking butt up, called a cab and took her home where I kept her awake for a few hours to make sure we didn't need to run to the emergency room.
I was pretty much out of patience with the crew we were with anyways, so telling M to have fun and cutting out wasn't that bad. However, I only got to spend ~10 minutes on the dance floor. 80's rock might not be the best dance music but it has a hell of a beat that gets lodged into your hind brain. I've spent the last three days with that "crawling under your skin" feeling and I need to go run it out of me. I tried pounding a vball at the Boy but Boy is still slightly broken, so that didn't last too long. I tried pedalling it out of me on the bike. 45 minutes later and its still there, although I at least slept okay for once. All that's left is to finish what I started and go dance it out.
But where?
ManRay is shut down for awhile and that was really the only place I went to with any regularity. Any ideas in the Greater Boston area? Friday/Saturday is best, Goth is prefered but I can make do if I have to play on a school night or if the dress code is mundane.
