Fuzzy experiments n through n + x

I haven't been updating on this lately, mainly because not much has changed. I have decided that I need to run the experiments at least once a day to be effective. Midori seems to forget that Tira kicks her butt if I skip a day. She then promptly attacks Tira when they are turned loose together again and we're back to square one, where Tira literally beats the shit out of Midori until Midori learns to stop attacking her. Leaving them loose together everyday seems to be a short enough time that Midori remembers its a bad idea to start something.

Midori has been staying under a towel most of the time, though she's slowly coming out from under it to nose around if she can't see Tira. Tira has pretty much stopped attacking Midori, though in her more playful moods, she pounces on top of Midori's towl a few times to make Midori scream and then runs away chuckling.

Whenever I have just Tira out and Midori is in her cage, Midori acts like she's going to tear Tira apart through the wire. Last night Midori hid in the cage from Tira for a brief span while Tira sniffed around outside. She then came out from her towel and started attacking Tira through the wire. This worked up until they moved themselves around to the open door. You could see Midori's eyes get big and she started shaking when she realized "shit, she can get in here with me". Luckily, Tira seems to think its a game and she just bounced away. Midori ran back under her towels.

Went riding last night for the first time in a week and a half. Joe was being ploddy for awhile, then he decided he had two speeds. Stop and Zooom. Majic was pretty calm and I actually got a couple of controlled canters out of her. Of course, the first few times I asked for a canter, I got an all out gallop that she refused to stop from. At least it seems to be getting through her head that if she's going to try to run away with me, she's going to do tight circles until she slows down. For the most part, she just pranced around a lot and looked pretty. Note: Prancing looks a hell of a lot nicer than it is to ride.

Still, mostly cooperative horses, nice weather, few bugs. All things considered, it was a good evening. Until we got home and faced the hunt for the rotten potatoes.
