Lots have happened in the last week.

First,
The trip was completely worth it. To start with. the rental car agency gave me a metalic pumpkin colored sunfire. I'm not a big fan of the car but I soooo want to repaint the Brick that color. PUMPKIN! Next, [personal profile] starherd! And Cade! And Chris! Haven't seen ANY of them in entirely too long. I stopped on at their place on Friday night after I got in and stayed into the wee hours of the morning. Scared my mom, though, who thought I'd be home at midnight. I figured she'd be in bed and would never know and I didn't want to call her since that would wake her. Apparently she got up in the middle of the night and paniced since I wasn't home yet. Called my brother, my step-dad, the state police. Oh well.

The reunion itself was a bit odd. Some people were exactly as I remembered them. Some I couldn't recognise at all. There was a frightening number of preachers and youth pastors amoung them now. At least one has come out of the closet. Many were married, many had been married, one or two were getting married. The Grosse Point Blank quote of "its just like everybody had swelled" was proven valid.

Les and I decided to go Professional Costumer Business Casual, which involved long black skirts and tight corsets. We may have been confused as Professional Streetwalker Business Casual but at least we weren't in kahki. We stayed to the end but didn't go to any of the after parties since my Mom had Cade and he was Not Happy(tm) that Leslie had been gone so long. Of course, he was sleeping on my mother's lap by the time we got home...he'd apparently cried himself out while waiting.

Second, my ComicCon art finally made it back. Apparently they held it trying to track down a buyer. Cobalt & Rust was bid on but the winner never paid and couldn't be found. That's okay, I'll send it to either FenCon or Conjecture during the next round. Hopefully, the paperwork and checks will show up soon.

Third, my Wednesdays are utterly filled right now. First, my riding lesson. Then volleyball practice. Need to decide between the two since I do NOT have the energy to do both and trying involves driving from Cambridge, up to Groton, then back down to Newton in one evening.

They recently removed all the jumps from the outdoor ring and grated it down. Tisa and I were the first to ride in it afterwards. Picture it, HUGE open arena, perfectly flat, good footing, and a pony that hasn't been ridden in almost a week. We had lots of fun. At the end, I just dropped the reigns to the buckle, got up in 2 point and said "go" and go we went. Zooooooom! Finally got to test wether or not Tisa would turn and stop at a full gallop by just using seat and legs. The answer is yes. Very proud of my pony. Definitely time to start schooling X-Country so we can hit the eventing circuit next year.

Three of the five in-progress paintings have paint on them at this point. I need to finish at least two of them before the end of the month. It'd also be nice if I could bang out an Arthurian based piece for the Enchanted Artists show but I don't know if I have the time or energy.

Also, any of you who are into spiritual based fantasy inspired artwork and are looking to buy some prints, go over to [profile] shimmeringjemmy's livejournal. She does lovely stuff and could use the business right now. Couldn't we all....

Come on, you can't expect them to be in the 80's still. Even in Mt. Union.

true, but I wasn't expecting nothing but quarter-inch long haircuts.
It was kinda scary.

Only if you put on a good 50 lbs since the last time I saw you.

They just don't look like the people we grew up with.

No, shorter hair. That cropped close to the head stuff.
(I misread that as "all look alike" originally, which was also the case;
difficult to tell 'em apart from halfway across the room an'nat.)
