Simulators, bumpers and bruises
May. 14th, 2002 09:11 amSo the little red wagon is still bumperless. Boy and I looked all through that huge junkyard and couldn't find two matching bumpers that were in usable condition. Going to a different junkyard next weekend. Which is fine with me, cause the first place pissed me off. When I called on Friday to ask if they had any, they said "sure, $125 if you take them off, $150 if we do". Boy called Sunday morning and got "sure, $75 if you take them off, $100 if we do it". WTF??? Either they got significantly more in and the price fell or they were trying to pull a fast one on the little girl. Somehow, I don't think it was the first, since they only had less than 4 cars like mine. Bastages, anyway.
As some of you have heard me rant, my simulator at work has "issues". And they aren't my issues, or I would fix them. NOOoooo, out of the 6000+ lines of code, there are about 1000 that someone else wrote. They are the controller for some of the blocks, and one of them is/was severly broken. The guy who wrote it is out all week but just before he left on Friday, he emailed me new one to test. And it seems to be working, miracle of miracles. After about 25 iterations of the same damn controller, it might be fixed. This means I can stop spending all my time debugging someone else's code and start making new modules. *happy dance around the office*
Finally, I have bruises and they seem to be spreading. On Saturday, Magic (horse), scrapped my leg pretty badly on a tree and I got a nice bruise from it. That doesn't explain where the ones on my arms came from. I just noticed them this morning. Now I bruise pretty easily but I normally have at least an idea of where they came from. Maybe I hit the wall last night climbing or something. They aren't huge or anything but still...
