Learning patience
Aug. 30th, 2006 09:49 amSunday, I attempted to start an oil painting. I don't really like painting in oils but I love the colors and shading you can get with them. I'm finding that I want saturation and intensity and watercolors just aren't cut out for that. I could work with acrylics but I've always wanted to learn how to deal with oils.
The worst part is the waiting. Every morning I go into the spare bedroom (beyond the reach of little furry feet) and glare at my still wet and shiny painting. Three days now and its still wet. Time to pick up some lindseed oil, since that's supposed to dry faster.
I'm never going to be able to do this.
Of course, that's what I said about watercolors five years ago, so what do I know...
