Argh, its miserable out. Its bad when I don't want to leave work because it would involve leaving the air conditioning for 15 minutes to get to the subway.

Its not even like the night is bringing any relief. It must have been 85 when we got up this morning. I turned the ferrets loose but all they wanted to do was flop down at my feet and look up at me hopefully. I took pity on them and threw them in the air conditioned bedroom while Boy and I took a cold shower. The ferrets were much happier and bouncy once they were in the cool. We've been putting their cage in the bedroom during the day but taking it back out at night. They are just too noisy at night to sleep near. Poor hot rats.

No horseback riding for us tonight, either. We're supposed to have "record highs" today, up above 100. No way I'm going to ask the horses to do anything more strenuous than stand under a tree with a hose turned on them.

*sigh* I think I'm going to spend the evening camped out in the dairy isle of the local grocery store. hmmmm....ice cream.

It was really hot today. I was out riding the streets of boston and cambridge trying to deliver packages (~6 dollars per delivery -- today I delivered 8! No doubt it will get better as I learn the layout of downtown boston a little more...)

Anyhow, a blind woman (complete with seeing eye dog*) came onto the elevator with me** and a bunch of business types around 2 and announced that she had just called for the time and temp and it was 100 out.

* I am seldom tempted to pet strange dogs. I am ALWAYS tempted to pet seeing eye dogs, probably I guess because you aren't supposed to.

** After 4 hours of biking in the 90-100 degree weather, I must have been pretty ripe -- I wonder if it's true what they say about blindness giving you a stronger sense of smell. That lady must have had collossal self control...

You picked a bad time to start being a bike delivery thingy. How much water are you carrying with you for the day?

We went swimming last night at a local pond. Didn't really like it all that much. We're heading out to Walden tonight for better swimming. Yay, water.

I carry two one-liter water bottles and refill them several times a day. Today I also splurged and refilled them once with HiC orange from McD's to replenish some vitamins and sugar and stuff.

It was really hot. I'm really learning a lot about the way Boston is laid out, and I imagine that I will lose weight. If not, I am going to storm my doctor's office DEMANDING TESTOSTERONE SUPPLEMENTS.
