joflashervacation run down:
people - C and G rock. of course, those of you who know them know this. they are the biggest reason that I would ever move back to the 'burgh. I'm more than a little in love with the both of them. and spades! there is a definite lack of spades and rook here in boston. this needs to be fixed!
G's family was pretty cool. Her mom played rook with us until midnight once or twice. Her cousin is pregnant and hot, as in overly warm. Somehow they are connected and the results was a constant battle over the thermastat since she wanted it down in the 60's in the house and everyone else was running around in jeans and sweatshirts and shivering.
outer banks - neat and narrow. it took less than 10 minutes to walk from bay side to ocean side and there were wild horses at the northern end. ask the boy about the fudge.
weather - sucked ! sunday was beautiful, every other day it rained. ended up on tornado warning one night with a water spout about 20 miles south of us (nope, couldn't see it). still, we went swimming in the ocean a lot (see next). even with the rain, though it was still warm, mid to upper 80's, which was nice.
ocean - warm and thwapping. the water was amazingly warm and soothing ... if you could get into it without getting thwapped. I got picked up by one wave and body slammed into the beach with enough force to create a huge bleeding brush/sand burn on my ass. It was better once you got out past the breakers though. Breakers were pretty intimidating and the Boy had to hold my hand to get me past them. Amusingly enough, the thwappings seemed to have fixed my back somewhat. My arm is still hurting but no where near what it was before we left. maybe I just needed a break from typing.
now - tired. artistic. paper enhanced.(thank you boy, for driving me to charrettes).
