fuzzy problems
May. 18th, 2002 09:32 amLast month, one of my ferrets, Tira, ended up with a HUGE bladder full of liquid in her belly, just below the rib cage. Vet took x-rays and blood tests and all sorts of stuff and, after $300+, was able to tell me almost nothing. In the process, though, he did drain it. 44 cc's of fluid out of a < 2lb animal :(
The working theory was that it was either an enlarged kidney or a pocket that formed off of the kidneys. Maybe kidney stones causing it to fill up. Vet said it might not come back and I was so hopefull.
Its back. I felt it starting in her last night. Its not nearly as large as it was but still, vet trip for us in the very near future.
On the up side, even when it was HUGE last time, it didn't seem to bother her. She still zoomed around the house and played and stole all the socks like a proper ferret should
