Boom, baby!
Jul. 10th, 2003 06:13 pmI'm baaaaaaack...
But I'm also entirely to far behind work/worn out from the traveling to do an extensive run down of the trip.
Highlights:
- Watching my sister-in-law's mother teach Gabrielle to do a headstand.
- Taking all of the monsters (my brother's 4 kids) down to the creek and teaching them how to catch crayfish.
- HUGE FRICKEN picnic my mom put together where 90% of all three branches of my family showed up. Lots and lots of people. Lots.
- Watching my drunk brother try to play horseshoes against similarly drunk cousins and uncles at said picnic. No, no one got a horseshoe to the head but it was close.
- Chris and George
- Moderately large 4th of July picnic at Chris & George's house where I got to see most, if not all, of the Pittsburgh contigent and got to meet lots of new people AND got thoughly wupped by Justin at Shoots and Ladder.
- SPADES ACE!!! (with some random Rook and chess in there for good measure)
- Invader Zim. I may never be able to hear the word "Doom" again without breaking into the "Doom" song.
- Volleyball. Neeeeeeed moooore voollleeeyyball...especially in nice soft sand courts.
- STORMS! BOOOM!
Needless to say, Chris and George were excellent hosts and have a lovely house, my nieces and nephews are adorable and the other family members are, well, family.
I need to get a hold of Simon and Ahn and start planning the next great hiking trip. Our summer's half up and we haven't hiked more than 6 continuous miles and that was in Pittsburgh from Chris & George's house to the nearest Starbucks and back. How sad is that?!?!
