Less bitter ramblings
Nov. 4th, 2004 10:37 amRight. I haven't exactly been posting a lot lately, have I? There are a couple of reasons for that.
Work - One project is in the middle of integration testing - aka, Jo gets in to work at 7 am, Jo leaves work at 7 pm. We also lost one of our better programmers to Alphatech and I get to take over his projects. That's right, I am the replacement Bill. Bill will be missed as Bill is competent, friendly and comments his code. I, as the replacement Bill, am only one of those things on any given day but I guess managment will make do.
Sick - I blame the Boy. Actually, I blame Noah who somehow gave said sickness to the Boy who then passed it on to me. Coughing, fevers, sore throat, chills, and nose. The whole nine yards. I'm just now getting over it and it started last Monday. I hate being sick. I especially hate being sick and being stuck on an airplane for 5 hours and traveling across the country where time differences will make the chance of me getting enough sleep almost null. See below.
Travel - Visited points west for Halloween. Got to see
starherd and
tg2k and their ADORABLE son, Cade. Also got to see
kasra_c briefly while at Yaoicon and met
sephyelysian and
amet and others that I can't remember right now. Somehow, we missed
kasra_c's man.
freeptop, where were you?!?! Unfortunately, I was not in my best form and was being overly cranky and judgemental at everyone. *sigh* Want to see a real halloween monster? Keep me up for 20 hours, give me a fever and get yourself some body armor. ARrrararar! Sorry about that to anyone who had to deal with me during it. I got to spend Saturday at Yaoicon and Sunday hanging out keeping
tg2k and Cade company. It was a pretty good trip, even if my main objective 75% of the time was to find a place to curl up and sleep.
Art - Yep, true to form, I was madly rushing around trying to get art done last minute for the con. In fact, the final piece got painted on the flight out and at
starherd's place. We entered it into the art show about 2 hours after I finished it. I sold one piece but it was to
starherd, so I'm not sure it counts. Yaoicon seemed to be a fanart con ... which is fine, if you do fanart ... which I don't. Or at least, I don't show anyone. To many copyright rants for me to actually try to sell fanart. Still, Yaoicon was fun and I got to run around as Gluhen Aya briefly. Guys, we so need to do a Gluhen mob for some con. I'll even dye my hair :)
Expect to see some new art work up here. Speaking of which,
tg2k, could you resend those photos? I really only need the blue winged guy, as I can scan in the others now that I'm home. Lumberjack has been up and down more than a french whore over the past week and apparently it was down when you emailed them to me. You may want to send it to flasher@joflasher.com instead of to lumberjack. Asyserver seems to be fairly steady.
