that they will soon send your way.
But for right now, I bask.
I finished my project. A full month before the original demo date. Just me. Using legacy code that everyone knew was broken to begin with. I am happy. See me dance? I'm also tired and braindead, what with all the over time I've been doing but hey, food soon.
I still don't understand why
a) they only assigned one person (me) part time to build the command/control module and 4 people to build a 4 body shuttle simulator and a 2 for the gui. Ummmm...the thing we're supposed to be demoeing is the CC module, everything else is just eye candy.
b) why my manager okayed not one, but two deadline moves without consulting me, especially since this project was only supposed to have half my time. They ended up with about 75% this month, mosts of it in the last week.
Anyways ...
Still no car. I bought it on Sunday, it had apparently just come in that Thursday and the dealer didn't have the title yet. Since its such a new car, the old owner was still paying for it. So the dealer, when he bought it, had to pay off the bank that holds the loan before the dealer could get the title. They sent the payment to the bank on Friday. We're still waiting for the title to get back to the dealer. Hopefully, though, I will have my car by the weekend.
I need a nifty name for the new car. Right now, all I can come up with is the Silver Brick. Foresters are a pretty brick shaped car and its a nice silver color. Maybe I should wait and see what sort of personality it has.
On the down side, I still have to clean up the Little Red Wagon and get her fit to trade in. I feel sad about it. I really like the Wagon. I've had her for years and years and she was my first car. But I need a dependable car to get me to school and stuff and the Wagon is falling apart one expensive piece at a time. And she never seems to break down when I'm near home, its always when I'm at least an hour from any help and need to get somewhere. Poor little wagon...I hope they at least use her for parts and don't just condemn her.
