and falling down during it but hey, I got new boots. After over a year of looking, I found a pair of knee high black leather boots that have all the required features.

A) reasonable heels - I don't wear heels much and anything much over 2 inches makes me want to cut my feet off after an hour
B) tread - I'm sorry, tephlon or the rubber equivalent does not belong on the bottom of my footwear. Any designer who thinks otherwise is completely cracked.
C) room for my calves - 20+ years of horseback riding and 12 years of volleyball have done interesting things to my lower leg muscles. Lets just say delicate and willowly haven't described them since I was 5 and leave it at that.
D) narrow around my feet - despite what my calves think, the rest of my lower legs are quite slender. Double AA type slender. There's a reason I hate shoe shopping.

But I found a pair. I'm so thrilled. I think I might have gotten them a size too big, though, since I was wearing normal socks when I tried them on. With the thin high boot socks, they seem a little sloppy around my ankle and heel. I don't care, though. They are spiffy and zip the whole way up now and I can alway put on thicker socks. Between them and my black semi-sandal things, I'm not going to need new dancing shoes for YEARS!!!

Spent Saturday shopping and hanging out with friends. Saturday evening the Boy, S, A and myself all went over to M's house for dinner. He made us lasanga (sp?) and garlic bread and cheese torte. We then hung around at his place until almost 3 in the morning. Note to everyone else, never play trivial prusuit with M's girlfriend. She knows ALL the answers. Really, ALL of them.

Decided to spend the night at S and A's place rather than drive back in the ice storm that was going on. Sometime around 6 in the morning, I woke up to the Boy's car alarm going off. I got him up, he went running out to the kitchen (we were sleeping on the livingroom floor) and came back saying nothing was wrong. I was a little iffy on that, since he was only half awake but I was too tired to argue. Later, after we had gotten up for real, him and S went out to have a look. Here a big fricken branch had fallen onto the ZOOoomobile due to all the ice. Luckily, it looks like it just glanced off of it. We couldn't find any real damage. I think its funny that the car's alarm went off because it got hit by a big stick.

Sunday was spent hanging out with S and A and admiring all the deadly ice hanging everywhere. They must have had about 1/3 - 1/2 an inch covering everything. Very pretty but I don't think the trees liked it much.

Note to self - keeping new spare toothbrushes in the house for unexpected guests is an extremely nice thing to do.
