First off, let me say [livejournal.com profile] plymouth rocks. Saturday I went to the junk yard down near RI that she suggested. Yes, Boy and I went in the rain and sleet and snow (snow?!?!? Its @#*&% May, why was there SNOW?!?!). We both agreed that, had it not been for the miserable weather, the junk yard would have been a lot like an amusement park. It rocked. They had everything organized by make and model of vehicle. We even found two almost flawless bumpers on a sedan version of the little red wagon. The "almost" depends on if you think fugly bumperstickers are a flaw. Of course, once we got home we realized that the wagon has a slightly different back bumper than the sedan. Wonder why none of my repair books mention that. Oh well, the junk yard also has a return policy and there were a couple wagons there that I could have gotten the back bumper off of. Sounds like another trip next weekend. That's okay, I also want new pistons for the back hatch. Then I won't have to carry around a big stick to prop open the door with.

That trip and getting the oil changed in the ZOOoomobile took up most of Saturday. After that, we were too cold and wet and miserable to do anything but huddle under a blanket and watch a movie.

Sunday we went up to the farm and hung out. Didn't ride at all, since there were other people there who were using our horses. We normally go Saturday but the weather was just too icky. Instead, we stripped down stalls and I helped a beginner rider take her horse out onto the trails for the first time. I had to give her a lesson in how to yell at a bratty horse ("no, not like that. Quiet and ladylike is all well and good in the show ring. Out here, you have to growl and roar!")

We then went up to Pawtuckaway Park to go climbing. Long and short of it was, I didn't have much fun, mostly do to a phobia I have a rock climbing. Yes, I've been spending the last 4 - 5 weeks forcing myself to do something that I have a paralyzing fear of. I'll post about that later, since its a big explanation. The cliffs were near a swampy pond with lots of biting bugs. It was also pretty chilly, so unless you were climbing, you had to huddle up in your coat to stay warm.

After the climbing, though, we went to A's parent's house in Manchester. A is 1st generation Vietnamese and her mother makes the BEST food. She made rabbit curry for us, along with some sour chicken and cabbage dish and an avacodo, spicy beef and mint dish. HMMmmmmmmm.... ate too much. Went home and crashed again. Definitely a good way to end a weekend.
