miscommunication abound.

if you are told someone has quit a job and is planning to do X to bring in money, wouldn't you assume that that someone is planning to do X as a business?

Wouldn't you also assume that that someone wants their advertisement of choice to project "professional at doing X" instead of "someone who does X for fun"? I mean, if you were looking for someone to do X, would you choose the "X for fun" or the "professional at X" person if you didn't know either of the people and the apparent quality of work was roughly the same?

Ass out of you and me
you'd think I'd know better

ahhh....happy (not!) memories of broadcast creative dept. days.... Clients can ask for the goofiest of adverts, and then complain, and blame you when they don't get any results. I feel your pain!

dumb (expletive deleted) hormones. I miss... you know...
thinking rationally. And not being nauseous more than half the time.

And being in certain peoples' company.
