Two nights ago I went on a holiday based rant while grocery shopping with the Boy. Halloween candy has already hit the stores up here. We still have about half of summer left and there's HALLOWEEN CANDY IN THE STORES!!! Am I the only one to see the inherit wrongness of this? Who really wants to eat 2 month old reeses cups come All Hallow's Eve? Dammit, what happened to Labor Day?

Anyway, last night while at the art store, I once again noticed the Halloween stuff all about. And I went and looked at it. I even *sob* BOUGHT some of it.

They had beaded yards of ribbon fringe that consisted of little gold bangles and red, gold and clear leaves. I spent hours and hours and hours hand beading my bellydancing scarf with a similar pattern, only I used black bangles and clear leaves. If I could have found this stuff 6 months ago, I would have used it and saved myself a month of pricked fingers.

I can't even pretend that its just beaded ribbon. The cardboard carrier has jack'o lanterns on it. Am I now doomed to give in to the obscenely early commericalization of holidays forever?

Oh, and the subject of this post is a quote from the movie "Tombstone", which has the only Doc Holiday worth mentioning in film.
