Okay, I just tried to register joflasher as an ebay user id. Ebay said that ID was already in use. I figured I must have gone ahead earlier and registered. I can never keep track of these things. Sure enough, the password question was "what color is my horse?" Definitely sounds like an account of mine. No problem...except joflasher ain't me. She's someone in the United Kingdom who registered last year sometime. jflasher is some guy in the US and flasher is another US resident who's been on ebay since 1997, which is before I even knew about the place.

Weird.

I've never had to go beyond those three in order to find a user id...

ebay is BIG. I'm surprised you waited so long to get into it. Now just think about if our kids want ebay accounts someday. All the good userids will be used up. They'll have to have userids like "BobThePurpleWalrus293423" instead of something simple like "WalrusBoy".

I assume you found some suitable userid? I sometimes involve my middle initial when necessary.
