The watercolor version of the mermaid is done


I noticed that she looks kind of mean or constipated or something now that the file is all shrunk down.




I don't know if I'm going to finish the photoshop version or not. I sort of liked the ice mermaid idea...

Very Elfquesty about the hair and eyes... :-)
except that the hair has nice and realistic coloring (being very dark brown instead of black-black, as one usually sees naturally)...

i still think a rainbow trout mermaid would be cool.

what do you mean about the hair coloring? I've seen some dark brown hair, but I see plenty of hair dark enough I don't notice much brown in it.

what she means is that very very few people have true black hair. Even the darkest brown hair is going to show highlights of brown or red instead of white or blue like black hair does. I tried doing the white/blue highlights on this picture but it just looked like a bad dye job.
