(yes, that is my phrase of the weekend)
Other than that, it was a fun weekend. Spent most of yesterday painting. I should have the new Autumn done in another few days. Tookpancua up to the farm this morning and introduced her to Tisa. She even rode her a little but her hip gave out after a few laps around the ring. Partly my fault, I used my normal jumping saddle on Tisa and that really tilts the rider forward. No, Katy, your balance is not that bad, the saddle just assumes you are going to be leaning forward 90% of the time. Next time, I'll put the dressage saddle on her and then maybe Katy's hips won't give her as much trouble. No dressage lesson as the instructor has food poisoning. Ah well, next week.
I finally got George out and worked with him. He's the (ex)stallion that got most of my forearm in his mouth a few months ago. Since then, he's been gelded and Carol's been after me to get him started under saddle. Another girl actually got on him 2 or 3 times but didn't do much with him. He actually reminds me of how Tisa was 5 months ago. Willing, doesn't know what to do and clutzy as all hell. Yay, another horse that's going to fall on me by accident...still, I lunged him and rode him and we didn't have any real issues. He has wonderful breaks but no gas pedal. He seems afraid to try to walk with weight on his back...any weight, even just the saddle. It takes him a few steps to figure out that he's not going to fall over just because something is up there. So new project. I'll be having the Boy ride Tisa while I work on George. George...who names a horse George anyways? This is a purebred, registered out the whazoo arabian and his name is George. I don't get it...
