Sorry to everyone I didn't get to see at Manray. The bastard doormen wouldn't let us in because one of us had on sneakers. Yes, this is their posted policy but this guy has worn these sneakers (very tasteful, dark, no flashy bit shoes) there at least 8 times without problems. The rest of us might have went in without him if the doormen hadn't been such complete pricks about it. So they lost 7 people, most of us dressed extremely well, I might add, for the sake of one pair of dark sneakers. Bastages anyways. We spent the evening hanging out at my place, drinking various concoctions and having fun. Think I might be fed up with Manray for a while. Time to find a better club.

It was raining again on Saturday but we still went up to the farm. Normally we cancle when there is no chance to ride but I had promised the owner that we would turn the horses out to pasture since she was leaving very early in the morning. We got up there, realized that the horses hadn't had their morning food, took care of that and turned everyone loose. In between food and loose, we played with the little one (baby horse born last month). She's sweet but normally her mother chases her away from people. Mom was eating so we got to brush and make over her all we wanted.

At home, we got struck with inspiration. Boy wanted to make homemade pasta and I decided to make lemon chicken sauce (hmmmmm) and cheese bread with hot peppers in it. This took almost all day and we spent the evening eating the fruits of our work.

Sunday we got up slowly, went downtown hunting for a store called the Grand Opening, failed to find it and came back home with a new bread book instead. Boy wanted to climbing at the gym with S and Al but I was too tired. Nap, Boy and crowd came back and we all watched the original Lolita while eating brownies. Weird movie but good brownies.

Oh, and fuzzy update. Tira seems to be doing fine. She left me touch her belly this weekend and she's able to stand on her back legs to beg again. She wasn't able to do that earlier. Midori, unfortunately, has decided that Tira is a new ferret who has usurped her cage, toys, and people and is therefore the enemy. She keeps trying to attack Tira through the cage and when I left them together with me holding Midori, she bit Tira on the ear and wouldn't let go. Tira doesn't understand why Midori isn't allowed out with her and keeps going over to Midori's cage trying to get us to let her out. Don't know how I'm going to fix this but they are definitely staying apart until Tira is healed enough not to risk opening that wound. On the up side, Tira always wins when a fight between them turns nasty, so hopefully she can stomp on Midori once and things will go back to normal. Tempted to wait until I can bath them together. Misery loves company and wet rats are the epitome of misery.

Okay, this is more than long enough.

If you do find a better club (or one you want to try) let me know. I like Man Ray, but it's been way too crowded the last few times I've been there and it's gotten a little old.
