Went well, all things considered. There was one fairly major problem found that needs to be fixed before we move in. The current owner had had the roof replaced in '99. Whomever did it did not understand how venting an attic works. Basically he put vents in and then sealed them in a box so that no air can get through them. It was 70 degrees out yesterday and that attic was 115. The owner is going to call the roofer and give'em hell.

There were a few fairly small things - a loose section of bricks right on top of the chimney, sump pump is pretty old, some plugs wired backwards. All fixable for under $1000.

I didn't actually get to walk the land much. I tried but I was wearing work clothes. Flats are not meant to go hiking through eyeball deep grapevines and briars. Still, I found lots of raspberry bushes, grape vines, and the worlds fattest chipmunk. Really...I've seen toads less round than this little guy was. Cheeky fellow too.

The Boy spent part of this morning at town hall making sure that the house wasn't on a land fill or a flood plain. Couldn't find evidence of either. Next step, morgage.

*wishing luck w/mortgage*

...dang, that's a roofing thing that even *I* know you're not supposed to do. And I learned it from a commercial on Discovery Channel, for crying out loud. Bleh.
