the emergency backup potatoe was to stand ready
to replace either of the other two should
something untoward happen...fire, combustables, dirt

but the emergency backup potatoe had other plans
yes, yes it did
the emergency backup potatoe wanted glory and fame
all for itself

now I have emergency backup potatoe sprayed all through
my kitchen, on the floor, up the cupboards
because, unbeknownst to me, the emergency backup potatoe
was really an exploding emergency backup potatoe
