End of the drama
Aug. 25th, 2004 09:29 amI did decide on the far barn. I stopped by the close one, though, and talked to the owner. I was warned that he was half senile and cranky but I found him to be very polite, just mostly deaf. He was more than willing to talk about his race horses and past wins. Hopefully I'll be able to move Tisa there next summer.
Telling Carol I was leaving was hard. She took it very well, though afterwards she went into the house and didn't come back out while we were there. I think she may have been crying. Either way, next Tuesday I'll take Tisa over to the new barn and it'll be done. The new barn is directly over the hill from Carols and I'll still be able to stop by while I'm trail riding.
The ferrets are definitely getting braver where the kittens are concerned. Midori pounced Jargo this morning. Jargo hunkered down while Midori was clinging her back and mewled, utterly horrified. She didn't move until Midori stuck her nose in the Jargo's ear and started licking, at which point Jargo let out a squall and ran for it.
Tira was trying to get Banichi to play with her in the covers but he didn't understand what she was doing. She'd poke her head out, dart at him and then run back under the covers. If he didn't pounce, she'd come out and do it again. Its a game she plays with us. Normally, we wrestle with her through the covers and get her all staticy. Banichi took one or two swats at her through the covers and then started running whenever she came out.
We're hoping to try letting the kitten run loose during the night either tonight or tomorrow night. That's the first step to letting them have run of the house. I don't like keeping hyper kittens locked up in a bathroom most of the day. It just seems cruel.
