joflasheror at least not a ferret update. I got home too late last night to try putting them out together. Will try again tonight.
Went riding last night.
Had a brief false start where we realised that we really did need to use the bug spray we bought. Boy rode Majic for the second time ever. It was kind'a amusing from my point of view. Majic's saddle is a little to short in the seat for him and he kept getting, um, squashed. He also wasn't very comfortable at anything faster than a slow trot - said she was too bouncy and he couldn't keep his legs still enough. She kept doing side passes and jigs and fancy stuff like that. They looked pretty good doing them too. I though he was asking for them but he said he was just bouncing around. Obviously Majic though he was asking too.
I on the other hand have a new respect for Boy riding Joe all the time. I forgot how incredibly leg dead and ploddy he can be ... imagine trying to push a small hill along by squeezing your legs. Ugh, my legs are still stiff and tired today. And he's a lot higher off of the ground than Majic. Gave me a new perspective. I found something he's afraid of. I tried to get him to cross a small stream. Nope, nothing doing. I finally got him to put just his front feet into it. After a few minutes, he put his head down to sniff it. He then started to play in it with his nose and, while I was distracted by that, he whirled around and tried to run away. Pretty tricky.
Other than that, it was a pretty boring evening. Hopefully tonight will be more interesting. Ferret experiment # 5, maybe climbing, maybe thunderstorms.
