still here
May. 16th, 2005 02:35 pmI know, I was supposed to be in Alburquerque today but at 6 PM last Friday, I got told to be there by Wednesday instead of by Monday, so here I am, in Boston. It was great, having a full weekend instead of just one day to prepare for vacation.
Saturday started out with a riding lesson. Both Tisa and I got a thorough dressing down from Marty because Tisa was being VERY lazy and I was letting her get away with it. I got the "this is a whip,I trust you know how to use it" lecture since Tisa decided to ignore my leg aids. On the up side, she got smacked only once for ignoring a trot transition and that was the end of the laziness problem. Just that fast, I had my normal, responsive pony again. Afterwards, the Boy and I broke out the bikes and went peddling around Billerica for an hour or so. Didn't make it down to the icecream shop, though. That was the original goal but I whimped out. My legs were TIRED!
I spent a good part of the weekend preparing the house for our absence. All the litter boxes got cleaned/disinfected. The fish tank got a major water change. Flower and herb beds all got weeded. My cilantro has finally decided to sprout. Now if only the basil would come up, I'd be happy. My lilacs have started to bloom. I need to go out tonight and smell them since they'll be done by the time I get back.
Work is being work. There's construction going on beside my building that involves a three story jack hammer running constantly. My entire floor is bouncing up and down hard enough to have sloshed my soup out of its bowl at lunch time. I'll be glad to get away. See you all when I get back.
