Nov. 30th, 2005 11:21 amWell, Tira's more or less back on her feet. She's still sleeping more than normal but otherwise she's good to go. I will (hopefully) find out the results of the biopsy on Friday. She's got a nice incision on her one back leg from it. Of course, she's still living in the downstairs bathroom since Midori is being a pest and keeps challenging her. Sick and stitched ferret does not need to be wrestling around like that. I swear, every time Tira smells a little weird, Midori decides she's a new ferret and must be put in her place. I'm taking Midori down to Tufts too, just to get a physical on her and rule out any possible problems. I'm a little gun shy right now. All of this has my savings account smarting but, hey, that's why its there. Emergency pet and car bills.
Yet another migraine yesterday. That's two in four days, which is two too many. I'm pretty sure that at least one of my female co-workers thinks I have an eating disorder at this point. Somehow, she always manages to catch me during my migrained induced vomiting. In some ways, work was easier when there was only me and the secretary on the entire floor who used the women's rest room.
I cut out of work and went to the chiropractor once my stomach emptied/settled itself. He took one look at my vastly mis-matched pupil sizes and said "migraines again, huh?" and proceded to tear me a new one for letting it get this bad. He cracked and crunched me for a good half an hour and made me promise to come back in two weeks. It seems to have helped. It was nice, waking up this morning without any sort of headache at all. That hasn't happened in months. I always forget how good it feels to not have that ache sitting behind my eyes. Here's hoping I can get back to one or two migraines a year instead of one or two a week.

Date: 2005-11-30 09:11 pm (UTC)I've tried about half a dozen different medications for them and have found that the chiropractor works best, as long as I keep after it. I've also tried various diets and exercise regimens. Nothing works as well as getting my neck cracked every few weeks. The headaches started after a concussion and spinal injury that my darling brother gave me. They get more frequent if I've taken a bad spill recently, like wriping out on my snowboard or coming off of a horse. I'm pretty sure its a "physical" problem as opposed to a chemical imbalace problem.
