joflasherMy new bread book just rocks. Not only did it have a recipe for chinese pork buns but it also gave variations on the filling so I could use up the leftover ham sitting in the fridge. Yay, ham buns. On the down side, my little steamer machine could barely fit 6 of them at a time. Not that Boy and I needed 6 (I brough half of them in with me for lunch today) but making them for friends could be a problem.
In other news, ferrets are getting slowly slowly better. They mostly just avoid one another and, when they do fight, they aren't drawing blood. Last night we opened up Boy's office for them. In there is the maze Boy made last summer and a dig box. A dig box is a big box with about 6 inches of rice in it for them to play in. Tira LOVES it and will spend hours throwing rice up in the air and tunneling through it. Anyways, Midori figured out she could claim and hold the maze with no fighting. Tira's fighting style, where she backs up until she can get ahold of Midori, utterly fails in the maze because it is only one ferret wide. So Midori ran through the maze all evening and chased Tira out anytime she came into it. There were a couple of squabbles when Tira tried to crawl in the sleeping room with Midori. Midori won and Tira went to sleep down in the rice. Still, some small progress.
