Filler art
Aug. 6th, 2007 12:03 pmQuickie little pieces painted for ComicCon. I had planned on one last "real" painting for that show but about a week from my mailing date, I realized it wasn't going to happen. So, two really small pieces and some rearranging and I had a full panel again.

I was thinking about salamanders but felt like painting a frog so, there you go, fire frog. 5x5 on the last of my really smooth clayboard *sniff*.

5x 7 on textured clayboard. I've actually done a number of these guys ... this is maybe the fourth? I don't remember. Wrinkly old gnomes in red hats seem be one of my default "need quick filler art". They take about 3 hours to paint and seem to sell really quickly .
With all the old folk commissions I did the other year, I gotten rather fond of painting wrinkles. Its like doing bark texture only on a face.
