return of the fuzzy wagons
Jun. 9th, 2002 06:48 pmSo Tira needs surgery, according to the exotics specialist at Tufts. If we keep draining it, its just going to put extra strain on the kidney such that it will need to be removed anyways, probably within a year, and all we'll have done is wasted money. He seems hopeful and says this is a very common procedure with cats, though he's never heard of it being done on a ferret. He and the vet student helping him kept doing things like staring at her x-rays, coming over and feeling the swelling, going back to the x-rays and going "this is so cool, have you ever seen anything like this? Neither have I. Amazing". And I'm thinking the whole time "it would be more amazing on someone else's ferret". But at least they are willing to try to fix her. Unfortunately, the surgery is going to run roughly the same amount as it would cost to fix the Little Red Wagon's transmission. Sorry, Wagon, you'll just have to wait and make due.
