harping away

I have a harp (thank you, shimmeringjemmy). She also gave me a little instruction/lesson book with it. Its kind'a neat to be reduced to playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Are you Sleeping" on an instrument again. I tried doing some of the more complicated songs that involve using both hands but the right hand is written in treble clef and the left hand is written in bass clef and what's up with that? I know both due to years of being the "Bass Girl" in highschool but I keep getting a brain fart while trying to process them at the same time. No, I'm not a keyboardist.

Hey, shoebox_bird, if you would like to borrow it to mess around on, you're welcome to. I know you wanted it too. Any idea where I can get a G string (for the harp, not for me. I have my own G strings, thank you)

Ah, excellent weekend. Shusi with shimmeringjemmyand the Boy Friday night, goofing off all Saturday, swimming and then a party at T's house on Sunday. Can't ask for better than that.

Finally rented the new Vampire Hunter D movie this weekend (part of the goofing off on Saturday).

Pretty pretty pretty pretty. Why can't more animation look like that...and I'm not just talking about the male characters either. The backgrounds were amazing, lovely, intricate, everything most mainstream animation is NOT! The characters were fairly well done, movements fluid and smooth. Maybe a little too much "staring off into space but with feeling" but hey, its anime. The music left a little to be desired, being overly loud and melodramatic in parts. Still, I want. I want the movie and I want other animation studios to pull their heads out of Disney's ass and make some decent stories.

Oh, and if someone can find me a D, I'll take one of those too :P
