kicking a$$
Nov. 18th, 2002 12:50 pmand falling down during it but hey, I got new boots. After over a year of looking, I found a pair of knee high black leather boots that have all the required features.
A) reasonable heels - I don't wear heels much and anything much over 2 inches makes me want to cut my feet off after an hour
B) tread - I'm sorry, tephlon or the rubber equivalent does not belong on the bottom of my footwear. Any designer who thinks otherwise is completely cracked.
C) room for my calves - 20+ years of horseback riding and 12 years of volleyball have done interesting things to my lower leg muscles. Lets just say delicate and willowly haven't described them since I was 5 and leave it at that.
D) narrow around my feet - despite what my calves think, the rest of my lower legs are quite slender. Double AA type slender. There's a reason I hate shoe shopping.
But I found a pair. I'm so thrilled. I think I might have gotten them a size too big, though, since I was wearing normal socks when I tried them on. With the thin high boot socks, they seem a little sloppy around my ankle and heel. I don't care, though. They are spiffy and zip the whole way up now and I can alway put on thicker socks. Between them and my black semi-sandal things, I'm not going to need new dancing shoes for YEARS!!!
