Apparently I won an award at CONvergence last weekend. The AD emailed me to let me know that my artwork was on its way home and that I had won "Best Amateur Collection" . I'm thrilled.

Getting one of the "Collection" awards means that one of your unsold pieces goes to auction automatically. That may very well be my first auction piece ever. I seem to either get masses of quick sales or one/two bids within a dollar of the min price.

CONvergence has been a good, steady show for me for the last couple of years and the art show staff are top notch. They always email me to let me know when my art has arrived, when it was shipped home and whether or not there were any problems with it. They also do a really quick turn around. They've got it packed back up and out the door in under a week. Astronomicon and PhilCon are also really good about stuff like that too. To top it off, CONvergence charges by the piece instead of by the panel. Its a GREAT convention if you don't think you can currently fill a full panel, which is often the case for me coming up into ComicCon.

So to those of you who are thinking of showing at a convention, CONvergence is a good one.

Of course, I might be biased.
