Today's pushing the envelope? Riding in the outdoor AND hauling my butt up onto my small elephant from a 2 step mounting block. That 4 step in the indoor has me so spoiled ...

Tonight's envelope pushing -hacking around the property. It went something like this (from Bean's point of view):
- Lunging lunging lunging, I am a master at lunging
- Hey, yelly person, have you come to yell at us?
- Wait, where are we going? You can go out that gate? With a rider? You sure?
- This is not normal!
- Well, HELLO Alick!
- chipmunk!
- Hey, it's Paddington & Rosie!
- ack, hill
- ALICK, I've missed you
- Chipmunk!
- Rosie, why are you making those faces?
- Wait, we can turn around? And go down the hill? WIN!
- Rosie, why are you making those faces?
- OMG! CHIPMUNK!
- Not feeling it, Alick
- Do we really need to go up that hill again? You sure?
- So tired now
And 20 minutes later, I had a pony with her head to her knees exhausted, all from just walking around the barns.

Today's Beanie Baby adventures, told from the perspective of a poor, tired, abused pony:
-Hey, it's windy, the puppy is with us, see how good I'm being out here?
-What do you mean, not enough impulsion. I lunged first (politely, I may add). I worked yesterday. This is as forward as I get!
- No, no, no, I do not want to trot up this HUGE hill like a dressage horse. I am a pony! A pony, I tell you!
- Okay, fine! Just...FINE! I'll canter up the hill
- What, you don't want a canter? Pony trot, coming right up!
- Look, it's either pony trot or canter, that's your choices today cause we both know you aren't picking this fight in these conditions, treat dispenser!
- Wait, wait, what? No, she's not even wearing real shoes! There's no way.
- Oh, crud.
< 3 minutes later>
- Yes, you're right, I can trot up this hill like a proper dressage horse.
Brought to you by the reminder that sometimes you just have to admit defeat and put your trainer up there. And that HUGE hill is like a 2% grade in the outdoor. Bean's convinced it's the horse equivalent of mountain climbing.
