weekends and silly putty
Sep. 16th, 2002 09:44 amSo my coworker came in and informed me that he has ordered a 5 lb ball of silly putty. I'm not sure why he did this or why he told me about it. He seems very excited about the prospect of owning 5lbs of silly putty though.
Weekend was pretty good. Friday night, climbing and indian food. Saturday, horses but no horses. We went up to the farm but the owners weren't around, the tack room was locked and the keys weren't where they were supposed to be. We also couldn't find the keys to the tractor, so we didn't do any field work either. Mainly sat around and petted the kitties, though we did work with Sage a little. Saturday evening, I cooked bluefish for S and A. Afterwards, they all watched LotR again while I worked on my current art project.
Sunday Boy and I got up bright and early, picked up S, and went white water rafting. There's this little river in western mass with a dam. Every once in awhile, they release water from the dam and the little river gets big and they have class 4 rapids on it. There is a company that does rafting trips down the river on the dam release days. Pretty fun, though my left shoulder is killing me now. No one in my boat fell out, though all of us bailed to go swimming once we were done. Went back to S's place and hung out there until 9 or so, then came home.
Sometime around 1:30 in the morning, the three fire alarms in the back stairwell went off. One alarm is on the second floor, outside of our neighbors' door. One is outside of our back door and one is at the base of the stairs going down into the basement. Boy and I disconnected them all (they woke up the baby next door) and went around trying to figure out why they all went off. Never found anything. One we put back up, as it was acting okay. One kept beeping like its battery was going and the other screamed whenever it got a power source attached. Still don't know what's up with them. The neighbor said they had similar problems with them a few weeks ago. Not a good night's sleep, though.

Date: 2002-09-16 09:38 pm (UTC)Plans good. Plans like last year? Last year worked good, I think. Maybe.
I liked that whole "cold" thing. That was good.
And I have shiney paw-print buttons on my coat. 32 of them.
Driving many hours thing not so good... I restate willingness to Drive.
(Worked goin' to San Diego Comic Con...)
*brain dribbles out ears* Should've consumed something besides
caffine today...
p.s. hey, I never got to say thanks for the birthday thingey, either.
Many, many thanks. I love the vampire-cat candle thingey.
Even Husband Dear likes it. He let me put it on top of one of his speakers.
I burn candles in it. Its eyes light up. I bounce up and down every time
I look at it. (Seriously. At least in my head.)
