many many moons ago, way back in freshman year, I joined an online art gallery known as Elfwood . Since then, everyone and their brother has joined and it got to be fricken huge. Meanwhile, I got pretty disallusioned with art on the internet. Sure, its a great way to get your stuff out there and known. Its also a great way to have your art stolen, altered, renamed and any other nasty thing you can think of. I stopped updating my gallery over time because I disliked the lack of control I had over what happened to my art.

Now that I have time and energy again, I want to start looking for outlets for some of my recent stuff. I would like to show some at the local conventions and start having some prints made of the better stuff. So once again, I need to get my name out there. I decided to start where I had left off, at Elfwood. My gallery had been shut down, just last week or so, because I never updated my email address to something valid after my andrew account stopped working. The people there were nice enough to let me fix it and reactivate my gallery if I wanted to. And I would, except half the art in my gallery is from highschool, back when I had no clue about copyright laws. So I deleted the ones that were iffy to me. And now I don't have enough pictures to meet the minimum requirements. I need to get some new pictures scanned in, which means I need to buy a scanner or borrow one or something. *sigh* Just what I needed, another excuse to spend money.

Anyways, look for new jo art online hopefully sometime within the next week or so. I'm only going to be putting up my pencil work, since I don't have much time and effort put into those. The colored stuff is staying offline, dammit.

There's a pretty good scanner sitting in our former office, unused. I bought it for Laurel, but she hasn't needed it much since she got the digital camera. You're welcome to at least borrow it.

that would be very appreciated, jason. Should I make plans to bring stuff up to your place or are you willing to bring the scanner down to mine or...

Maybe if I'm lucky, a little Boy shaped elf will bring me a scanner for christmas...

oh course, he doesn't read livejournal, so that hint won't work at all...

It's not being used, so I can bring it to you, and you can hang onto it for as long as you need it.

Yaaaaaay, Jo-art!
*does the happy dance*
I can get to see Jo-art again!
*hops around some more*

actual, honest suggestion: put up *one* color piece, at some point.
Possibly even something that you color just for the purpose.
That way, anyone looking can see that your coloring
blows away all competition, too.

Convention art shows gooooood...

p.s. I actually have no idea why Quicktime 6.0 wouldn't deign to play my videos,
but you're not the only person to have had difficulties.
Unfortunately, since I can't reproduce them (even between me, Kasra, and our
multiple computers), I've no idea how to fix it...

I am, now, in the business of trying to get the videos encoded into an mpeg
format, which is usually much more amenable to being played all over the place.
Hopefully I can make this work...
