not quite dead yet
Dec. 23rd, 2002 02:53 pmLong week and its only monday. I'll be glad to get out of here soon. Everyone else is gone already and the building feels like an elementary school during the summer. Sort of depressing and empty. I wonder if running down the halls would help...
I spent last wednesday and thursday at home sick with the icky, nasty, disgusting cold the Boy gave me. I was so sick that I didn't do ANYTHING while staying home from work. Well, I read the new Terry Pratchett book but that's it. No drawing, no sewing, no cleaning. Only one book when I had two complete DAYS. Those of you who know me know how very odd this is. When in top form, I can normally read 2 or 3 novels in one day. I must have plowed through 5 gallons of mint tea though.
Doing better now. That first day, when all of a sudden, you no longer have a fever and you can almost breathe and the helium tank has been disconnected from your head, feels INCREDIBLE. I mean, you're still sick, you can't smell anything and your nose is doing a wonderfully accurate impression of the sink in your first dorm room but it doesn't matter. Because you feel better than you did the day before. And you are happy about it.
If you couldn't tell, I'm taking cold medicine.
*sigh*
tonight, packing, baking, shopping, cleaning, lobstering, picking up the leslie and her sidekick, sleep
tomorrow, the adventure begins. Before 5 in the morning. Someone shoot me now.
