joflasherI seem to have committed a tactical error. I went outside to pick up some stuff. It was all I could do to drag my lazy butt back in here and 'work'. Grrrr. This country obviously needs more free days. I can't wait for summer hours here at work to start up. If we were on summer hours, I could go home in 4 minutes. Damn.
Last night I spent cleaning out all of my pots on the back walk and getting ready for spring planting. I'm proud to say that my strawberries survived the winter, even if their pot did not. Their pot was shattered and was being held together by the strawberry roots. I replanted most of them. Some of them even have the starts of little green leaves on them already. The other surprise was finding lettuce and spinach growing underneath the weeds in the row pots. I added some seeds around the volunteers and covered them back up. Boy said "Girl, it too soon". I said "shush." Boy pointed out that its supposed to sleet and snow on Monday but I don't care. Blind obstinance or blind optimism, take your choice.
Also, the ferrets helped me plant some gloriolas and a starfire bulb in the house. I was still sweeping up dirt this morning. The best part was when both of them hopped into the pot and started digging for all they were worth. Looked like a very small volcano erupting.
