Weekend review
Mar. 31st, 2003 10:37 amFriday, Stitch & Bitch up at
pancua's and
wyndam's. Lots of talent, bitching, laughter and chocolate involved. I made a spiffy, slinky new top that I can't wear to work. I was also told I'm fairly dense when it comes to noticing female attraction. I'm not surprised. Guys are easier to read to me...wonder if its some weird programming thing. Still, being admired by cute girls is definitely a good thing(tm).
Wore said new top to the going away party for
luminifer we held on Saturday night. Got a wonderful complement from Simon about it. Again, lots of bitching and laughter was involved along with an rather amazing amount of alcohol. I don't think I've ever seen someone all but finish a bottle of port on their own before. Last of the party goers left around 4. I fell asleep by 2. What else is new. How did I make it through CMU again?
Sunday, the Boy and I cleaned up after the party all morning. He needed to go to work some, so I went clothing shopping. I hate clothes shopping. I wear everything until it literally falls apart in the wash before I try to replace it. Unfortunately, I was once again down to 2 pair of jeans and 1 pair of barn pants that weren't completely indecent yet. All but one or two of my skirts will be useless in warm weather (most of my skirts are long and wool) and 90% of my dress tops were bought for me by my mother either before or during college. Normally the top thing wouldn't be a problem but I haven't had a good infux of t-shirts since my last year in college. My t-shirts are all at least 3 years old and look it. I miss the TOC. Did I mention I don't like clothes shopping?
Normally shopping is an exercise in frustration for me. Everything I like the colors of are built for someone with a figure 1 and everything that is made with curvy women in mind only comes in that obnoxious shade of bright pink that makes you want to claw your eyes out. The planets must have been in alignment, though, since I came home with a pair of jeans, a pair of dress pants, two skirts and 4 tops and I like them all. Yep, all of them. In fact, I even think I look damn good in them. The stores are actually carring skirts that aren't just the standard sheath and pants that don't try to make you into a carpentar this year. I actually had choices on what I wanted to buy as opposed to having to buy whatever fit decently.
Hey,
shoebox_bird, you know that top you were altering on Friday? I bought one with sleeves just like it on Sunday. Somehow I missed them until I got it home. Boy said I should have bought more stuff and stocked up for the lean years. Of course, I forgot to get more socks. Watch me go for socks next weekend and only be able to find them in bright pink.
