Friday, don't remember. Hope it was good.

Saturday, made a yummy yummy breakfast of ham steak, eggs and home fries. Of course, we ate breakfast at lunch, but *shrug*
Ended up spending the rest of the day over at one of the Boy's coworkers. They threw a really great party, complete with chinese food and an icecream bar. Good party, interesting people. The Boy's manager's wife was really cool. She's an atmospheric chemist and we ended up talking for hours about NASA and stuff. On the other hand, 7+ hours with people I had just met was a little much.

Sunday, horses first.

I found out that Altisa can buck. It was really windy and she was completely freaking out about the noises the trees were making. She was kind'a doing the "look how high I can get my back feet above my head" sort of deal. I didn't get thrown off but I eventually gave up and hop off. I wasn't having fun, she wasn't having fun, it just wasn't fun. I made her walk around the trees with me on the ground and got it through her head that she wasn't allowed to run off just because the trees were scarey.

Before I left, I spent about 20 minutes playing tongue grab with Apache to help get him over his fear of bits. For some reason, a lot of horses really like you to grab their tongues and pull it. As soon as you let go, they bounce around and snort and throw their heads in the air and then come running back and stick out their tongues again. Its a great game, if a bit gooey. Well, I do it with a bit in my hand so they have to get used to having it touching their tongues and clicking their teeth and stuff. The goal is to get the bit in his mouth during the game, then give him a bite of carrot. Worked pretty well. Before, if he saw a bit, he would throw his head up and back away and not let you touch him if he could avoid you. By the end of the game, he was picking the bit up off of my hand, spitting it back out, and waiting for the carrot. Altisa, who's an old hand at tongue grab with a bit, came running over, grabbed the bit, and stood there waiting expectantly, like "Oh Oh, I know how to play this game. Let me do it". Apache was not amused. Silly horses.

Spent the rest of the day running around getting stuff. Still don't have my metal halide lights up and running over the fist tank though. Just not finding the correct power cords.
