The other night, the standard horde descended upon our house for the weekly DnD session. My two current watercolors were laid out on the coffee table in all their incomplete glory. Talk circled around what I planned to do with them and why I was painting them to begin with. Then, out of [profile] wandelrust's mouth came this..."So what ever happened to the one with all the leaves?" Me - "Its under the bed.". Him - "Is it finished?" Me - "No, it is not. It probably never will be." Him - "Too bad. I want a print of it if you ever do finish it."

DOH!

I told him I was thinking of laying it out as a watercolor and redoing it since I'm so incredibly slow at colored pencils. He was shocked that it was pencil at all but that's not the point of this. The point is that after 4 years, that stupid leaf picture is still not done and people are still asking about it. 4 years. What is done is lovely, delicate, intricate, and maybe my best work to date. It also took over a 100 hours to get it that far and I'm afraid that if I start it again in watercolors, I'll be in the exact same place in another 4 years...

And its under the bed because it was watching me reproachfully everytime I went into my art room.

Heck, if I thought I could possibly afford it, I'd offer to pay you to finish it.
