one project down, one to go

Finished taking in and hemming my bridesmaid dress for Tom and Katy's wedding. Seeing how I was the backup emergency bridesmaid, I didn't get to go through all the fittings and such. In fact, I got an unfitted, unhemmed dress on Tuesday. Dress was a size 10. They couldn't find a size 8 that they could get to us before the wedding. I am not a size 10, at least not in the top half of my body. I ended up taking a good 4 inches out of the thing diameter wise. Now I have a shape when I wear it and the shape is not just rumply. Its a lovely gown, though, and very fitting for a winter wedding.

Now to start on Katy's commission. I have ideas. I have an airbrush and paint. I even went out in the early morning snow to get a HUGE watercolor block so I have a canvas to work on . I just need to do the time consuming layout and masking off of things and get Katy to okay an initial design.

oh yeah, YAY! SNOW!

Hey! I finally have a box ready to send to you! *bangs head against wall*
...And I need to get you something for Christmas. Like a book or something.
If you don't speak up, I might have to resort to gift certificates, due to lack of
ability to shop for any length of time this year. Maybe a gift card thing for, like,
Michaels would work? Then you could get useful stuff, maybe. If Michaels is useful.
Need stuffs for Josh too.

Les, neither of us is getting much shopping time this year. All my neices and nephews are getting saving bonds and the rest of the family are getting gift certificates. I blame flying home. I still have a huge box full of "stuff" that just keeps getting bigger and I haven't sent it. Some of those gifts I bought for you last year this time. ARGH!

Yep, those gift certificates are looking mighty fine this year. And they cost so much less to send! ;-)
