house hunting

We found a place we liked yesterday, tried to put an offer on it last night and found out the sellers had accepted an offer not 30 minutes after we saw it.

Now every where we look is not as good as the one we wanted, thanks to the traditional "grass is greener" thing.

HUG Sorry to hear it.

As advice, don't rush into the next 'good' place you see as overcompensation; waiting another month to buy a house is better than having to sell a shitty house six months after you bought it, or wose, being stuck with a shitty house...

we don't have a choice as to rushing in. We need to be out of our apartment by May 31. Figure 6 to 8 weeks in closing and we have less than 2 weeks to find a place. Which sucks.

Extended stay hotel, if necessary? Suites are more than rent would be, but usually in a comparable ballpark.

You also could rent another house, but you probably wouldn't be able to find a rental as cool as the one you've got...

The house thing is really exciting and stressful... I had butterflies the whole week we were bidding on it, like a crush, y'know? We also got really really lucky I think. Do you still have a chance to renew your lease and take another year about finding a house?
