House update

We signed the Purchase and Sales agreement yesterday. Its all done except signing the morgage and getting housing insurance. Insurance has been...amusing.

Conversation with insurance brooker, as relayed to me by the Boy.

Broker: Do you own any pets?
Boy: Yes, we have two ferrets.
Broker: I know this is going to sound weird but I have to ask it and you have to answer...are any of your pets trained to attack on command?

I've been laughing about attack ferrets all day.

It doesn't and the broker knew attack rats were fairly impossible but he still had to ask. Josh should have told him we have an attack fish. Das Bitch bites anyone who puts their hand in the tank so I think that should count.

It doesn't affect thier ability to buy the house, rather the cost to insure thier house. Home owners insurance covers a number of odd things.

I wonder if attack ferrets would raise or lower the insurance premium.

A lot of insurance companies have the policy of not insuring people who own certain breeds of dogs or animals trained to attack. Not saying its right or wrong but that's why they ask. If you own a pitbull/doberman/ect, chances are you're going to have a hard time finding someone to insure your house and you're going to pay more for it.
