Friday - climbing. Gym was refreshingly empty. I made it the whole way up a solid negative climb. Normally I forget to use my legs enough and my arms give out before I make it to the top. Made it this time. woohoo. I then fell off of every other climb that night but I didn't try anything below a 5.8+, so I don't feel too badly about it.

Saturday - riding. Decided to take the horses off to the sand pits instead of out to the meadow even though getting to the pits involves riding almost a mile on the road. Luckily, neither of our horses mind cars. We've never ridden in the sand pits before and I was disappointed that it was mostly just sandy scrub land. The horses seemed to like it though. I think they were getting as bored with the meadow as we were. There was one area about the size of a dressage ring that was nice loose sand. Majic insisted that we canter 20 meter circles in it instead of just troting sedately across. Oh well. On the up side, both horses were fairly well behaved. I found a chin strap for Majic's piecemeal bridle which really helped as far as brakes are concerned. Now I just need to find a new brow band and it might actually work well.

Insert fuzzy experiment #1 here. (see later post)

Spent the evening out at S and A's and stayed entirely too long. We didn't get home until after 2. I'm too old for that anymore.

Sunday - Got up late, ran fuzzy experiment # 2 and went down to Lincoln Woods in RI to go bouldering. The woods are very pretty, though rather crowded. Luckily bouldering isn't that popular of a sport so we didn't have to wait for climbs. I didn't even try to top out any of the boulders, since S and Boy were both shaking messes after doing so. I did lots of lateral work where my feet were only 3 feet from the ground instead. It was pretty skill intensive and fun and I got experience on actual rock without dealing with the height/rock problem. A twisted her ankle really badly dropping off of one of the boulders. Boy was spotting her, there was a crash pad under her and she still managed to land funny. That pretty much ended the climbing. Her ankle was sore but useable by the time we got home.

Went home, made barbecue beef ribs and hot dogs on the grill and watched Zardoz. Don't ask me why, I warned everyone it was a terrible, hideous, almost painful to watch movie. We still watched it.
